The Get Set website has a fresh new look and lots of new resources to boot!
Get Set, the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association's youth engagement programme, has a brand new website packed full of new features and resources designed to help schools and community groups connect young people to the magic and excitement of Team GB, Paralympics GB and the action which will unfold in Brazil at the Rio 2016 Games.
Get Set is a flexible, cross-curricular programme, which uses the Olympic and Paralympic Values to help young people fulfil their potential in all walks of life. Ultimately, it aims to 'inspire a generation'.
The website sits at the heart of the Get Set programme, providing young people, teachers and other adults who work with young people access to a wide range of opportunities and resources that can be used in the classroom, outside in the playground and in the community. It also acts a hub - providing schools and youth groups with the chance to share best practice and promoting other Olympic and Paralympic opportunities which are delivered by partners.
Key features of the new website include:
- A dedicated resources section, including the new Get Set for the Road to Rio primary and secondary resources. This cross-curricular suite of assemblies, activity sheets and ideas encourages pupils to complete challenges related to Rio 2016 and enables them to discover more about the host country, Brazil, and TeamGB and ParalympicsGB hopefuls. There are also new resources associated with the Mandeville Place Orchard campaign, which enable pupils to investigate the history of the Paralympic movement and find out more about the new Mandeville Place area with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
- A community sharing platform, which allows those involved in Get Set to showcase their work, share their stories and see what others are doing. A news stream keeps users up to date with information from the Get Set programme and partners.
- The Get Set + area which promotes Olympic and Paralympic opportunities.
Get Set will be launching lots more exciting resources and opportunities in the build up to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic games, so watch this space...
